The words of Jesus are nothing like the American Dream. Our founding fathers declared we have the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Millions of Americans pursue those things. Millions in our country also say they are Christian. Is it true?
I’m not trying to stand on some super spiritual platform and look down my sanctimonious nose at anyone else. This post is more about what I struggle with in following Jesus. I still have a long “Way” to go.
If you drive through any American town, it seems like Jesus is pretty popular. Especially here in the South, there are churches everywhere. You’ll often drive by a dozen or more on the way to the church of choice you attend.
